CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 16 -- Rep. Alma S. Adams, D-N.C., issued the following statement on President Trump's press conference where he reiterated his belief that "both sides" were to blame for white nationalist violence in Charlottesville:
"When the President was elected he promised to unite us. Yesterday, the President's erratic and despicable press conference slammed the door on that promise."
