LOS ANGELES, March 9 -- The office of the Los Angeles Mayor issued the following news release:
In a speech to the California Charter School Association today, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa called on charter schools to expand their work and proven teaching methods beyond their own schools and export their successes to traditional public schools. Despite the success and the growth of most charter schools, charters currently only serve three percent of public school students . . .
