WETHERSFIELD, Conn., March 9 -- The Connecticut Department of Labor issued the following news release:
Connecticut lost 2,700 jobs in January, bringing the state's nonfarm employment to 1,616,100. On a seasonally adjusted basis, this represents an increase of 22,600 jobs over the year, when nonfarm employment totaled 1,593,500. The state's unemployment rate remained at 9.0 percent, which is the same as the national rate for January.
