WASHINGTON, March 9 -- The office of Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., issued the following news release:

Today, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer announced that the Utica Fire Department will receive a grant totaling $956,006 in Round 11 of the FY10 AFG Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program.
