TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 8 -- The University of South Florida issued the following news release:

When Lydia Keen, granddaughter of former Florida Gov. Bob Martinez, graduates from USF St. Petersburg on Sunday, Dec. 14, she and her classmates will hear a few words from her grandfather - the man she says taught her the meaning of determination.

Having a Florida governor for a grandfather influenced Keen to take her education seriously and seek out her professional passion.
