WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- The National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives issued the following news release:
On October 1, 2008, a congressionally-mandated ban on offshore oil exploration and expanded development of oil from shale rock in the American West officially expires. Supporters of increased domestic energy production are calling it "Energy Freedom Day."
