WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 -- The Health Forum issued the following news release:
Thirty-one states reported widespread flu activity the week ending Feb. 2, up from 11 the previous week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday. The U.S. flu season was slow to start this year but the current activity is not unusual, since the flu season usually peaks in February or later, CDC officials said.
