EPA FINES COMMONWEALTH PORT AUTHORITY $32,500 FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT VIOLATIONS

HONOLULU, Aug. 18 -- The Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 office issued the following news release:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently settled with the Commonwealth Port Authority for $32,500 for hazardous waste treatment, handling, storage, and used oil disposal violations at its Saipan International Airport facility.

"We are serious about protecting the community, workers and the environment from improper management of hazardous wastes, . . .
