SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 14 -- The California State Assembly Democratic Caucus issued the following statement:

Assemblymember Ted W. Lieu (D-Torrance), Chair of the Assembly Rules Committee and former Chair of the Assembly Banking and Finance Committee, released the following statement today regarding proposed state budget language to provide tax breaks to subprime lenders. Lieu is also the lead author of several mortgage reform bills in the California Legislature.
