ALBANY, N.Y., Aug. 8 -- The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation issued the following news release:

A new initiative to help reduce the growing presence of pharmaceuticals in water bodies is being launched today by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Commissioner Pete Grannis announced.
