ALBANY, N.Y., Aug. 8 -- New York State Sen. Kenneth P. LaValle, R-Port Jefferson (1st District), issued the following news release:
Sen. Kenneth P. LaValle today announced that the Senate has passed a measure allowing for a constitutional amendment that would give New York voters the power to amend laws through initiative and referendum. Under the provision, the people would have the final say on laws enacted by the Legislature.
