Senate Confirms Kaye as Consumer Product Safety Commission Chairman

WASHINGTON, July 29 -- The Senate has confirmed President Obama's nomination of Elliot F. Kaye, of New York, to be chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and to be commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission for a seven-year term from Oct. 27, 2013.

According to the Congressional Record published on July 28, the Senate also confirmed:

* Pamela Harris, of Maryland, to be U.S. circuit judge for the Fourth Circuit.

* Brian P. McKeon, of New York, to be a principal deputy under secretary of Defense.

President Obama Nominates McMillan as Federal Transit Administrator

WASHINGTON, July 29 -- The Senate has received President Obama's nomination of Therese W. McMillan, of California, to be Federal Transit administrator.

According to the Congressional Record published on July 28, the President also nominated:

* Thomas Frieden, of New York, was nominated to be U.S. representative on the Executive Board of the World Health Organization.

* Perry L. Holloway, of South Carolina, was nominated to be ambassador to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

* Willie E. May, of Maryland, was nominated to be under secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology.
