Senate Confirms Ambassador to Niger

WASHINGTON, July 23 -- The Senate has confirmed President Obama's nomination of Eunice S. Reddick to be ambassador to the Republic of Niger.

According to the Congressional Record published on July 21, the Senate also confirmed:

* Julie E. Carnes, of Georgia, to be U.S. circuit judge for the Eleventh Circuit.

* Michael Anderson Lawson, of California, for the rank of ambassador during his tenure of service as U.S. representative on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

President Obama Nominates Ambassadors to Bahrain, Malawi, UAE

WASHINGTON, July 23 -- The Senate has received President Obama's nomination of the following individuals to ambassadorships.

* Barbara A. Leaf, of Virginia, was nominated to be ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

* Virginia E. Palmer, of Virginia, was nominated to be ambassador to the Republic of Malawi.

* William V. Roebuck, of North Carolina, was nominated to be ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
